BRILLIANT! A true craftsman
Took a pair of Red Wing boot where the outer sole has split making them unwearable. Gary explained the options for repair clearly and was really knowledgeable. Boots were repaired in under a week and soles looked like new
Really impressed with the service, knowledge, price and friendly attitude

Great local service. Timpson quoted me £30 for a basic motorbike key. I ordered a blank off eBay and was going to have a go a replicating myself. A quick search to see if there was anyone close and I remember this place. Popped in, nice friendly service and a key cut for £4 while I waited. It would have only been £10 if I hadn't had a blank key. Will definitely be back and the shoe repairs look good too.

Helpful - as ever; always with a smile. Three watches sorted - batteries and advice about misted face. Also recently excellent re-soling/healing special shoes. He called them dance shoes - they’re actually for playing the organ, but same principle. And … had numerous keys cut there. Always got the necessary blank and makes a good smooth working key. Called at Timpsons at Tesco Formby to get keys cut. Told £9 each. Thought it was a ripoff. Went to Formby shoe repairs £6
Got four keys cut saving £12 and what an absolute nice friendly guy to deal with.
I hope that he's still there in the future as I know how difficult it is to run a small business. I'm sure that he could increase his price for keys by a pound and still be very competitive. Well done.

I took my work Shoes in as the soles were ruined from walking 10 miles a day. The guy who served me was an absolute top pro. He listened to my requests and gave me all the options. And found me my ideal shoe fix. I told him when im next working and he fixed the shoes to a very high standard. I am very happy and will recommend the store to friends. Thank you so much

I come here all the time for shoe repairs and to get keys cut. I attended yesterday with 2 jobs required. A new battery for my watch and a new battery for my car key. Both done within 10 minutes. The car key was a bit tricky but was sorted out. Thanks. Total cost £15 result. I was quoted £21 from Timpsons just for the car key.

What a great shop. I needed a well worn but much loved pair of sandals repaired as the stitching was starting to come loose on one side. Within a matter of minutes the sandal was back on my foot, glued, stapled and ready for another summer of wear. The service was excellent and so reasonably priced. They saved me from having to buy a new pair too which was a relief!

I had a pair of really good Solomon walking boots where the sole had worn out. Formby shoe repairs said they could replace the sole and have them as good as new.
Just got the boots back now. Still super comfortable and the soles are spot on.

It seems I can’t leave another review so I’m adding to my last one. I had a customers e-bike in the workshop which had a very bent battery key. Popped into Formby Shoe Repairs who were able to copy the key that was about to snap. Great to have this service locally 👍🏻

My first visit today was more than worth the effort.

I couldn't find anyone elsewhere more local prepared to fine stitch repair the torn lacing support on one of a pair of near brand new shoes so I emailed the repair shop and took the train all the way to Formby (from Liverpool). A member of the team had emailed back, after receiving my brief description of the repair needed and photos, to reassure me not only that the job would be done but also there and then on the spot "to save the trouble of going back and forth to Liverpool".

Not only was the repair completed immediately, as promised, inbetween visiting customers, it was done very quickly, most efficiently and to my enormous satisfaction. On top of that, the shop owner was so friendly and chatty and charged me at such a low price I felt embarrassed and chose to actually add a little more to what he charged.

Formby Shoe Repairs is a special shop. It is, unlike your average Timpsons, obviously equipped specifically to attend to most any type of shoe repair that more standard shoe repair shops will not even attempt. The damage to my shoe was minor but would have meant my not being able to wear the still near new pair in relative comfort and also at the risk of damaging them further. I'm not aware of another repair shop like it on this side of the river and I won't hesitate to go back next time I find myself in need of any type of shoe service.

Great repair shop, owner really cares about quality of work. I've had quite a few shoe/boots resoled and a watch battery changed over the years with really good long lasting results. Managing to replace the molded soles on my hiking boots was particularly impressive!
